At the end of June, the small town of Lillestrøm in Norway became the center of the digital world. People who work with internet policy, tech experts, politicians, and internet fans from all around the globe came together for a big event: the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2025.

The Estonian Internet Foundation (EIF) is taking a closer look at how .ee domains performed during the second quarter of the year. A total of 7,730 new domains were registered during this period, bringing the total number of domains in the registry to 173,000. This shows that the Estonian top-level domain market is still growing and now has an annual growth rate of 2.18%.

This year's Internet Day focused on humanity’s role on the internet. People talked about how AI and social media are changing the way we get and understand information. How they quietly shape, filter, and steer what we see. How they affect kids, teens, and schools. Are we truly independent thinkers, or is the idea of free speech and free thought just an illusion? And if so, is there anything we can do about it?
