The Estonian Internet Foundation supports youth cyber initiatives

Heiki Sibul: “The domain sector as a whole has performed well and as the majority of the domain name registrants are our citizens and companies, the growth is a reflection to the market. The innovations made by the Foundation in the procedure for registering an .ee domain name, enable us to contribute to broader internet projects, which otherwise would not be implemented.”

The projects approved by the Board had to meet certain criteria, such as relevance to the objectives of the Foundation as an organisation, cyber space relevance, and having the widest possible impact.

The Board endorsed the Information Technology Foundation for Education (HITSA) projects Küberpähkel and the Cyber Security Summer School, as well as the Cyber Olympics collaborative project between the Ministry of Defence and Tallinn University of Technology, thus supporting the participation of an Estonian team in the European Cyber Security Challenge (ECSC).
