Estonian Internet Foundation Earns ISO/IEC 27001 Certification for .EE Security Systems Management

The certification applies to two important areas:
The management of the .EE domain name registry;
The operation of .EE name server services
These systems are the backbone of the .EE infrastructure. With the applied standard, both domain registrars and .EE holders can trust that our services are secure, reliable, and professionally managed.
To achieve ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, we reviewed and improved our processes, security rules, and risk management methods. The team worked together to improve our system’s efficiency and applied necessary additional safety measures. EIF also has 24/7 automatic monitoring on our servers and systems.
Our effort to keep EIF’s systems safe and in line with ISO/IEC 27001 standard is managed by our CISO. The responsibility of meeting the security objectives is held by our CEO and supported by the contribution from all team members. Regular training helps staff stay updated on the latest cybersecurity knowledge.
The ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification is a key step in reaching EIF’s strategic goals for 2025–2027, and it supports the foundation’s long-term vision of becoming the world’s leading domain registry.
The certification was granted by BM Certification and will remain valid until 2028.
